SJS Pupils Enjoy 'El día español'
On Monday 9th February, Stamford Junior School enjoyed a Spanish Day organised by Mrs Cox. The pupils spent the day learning about the richness and variety of Spanish culture and traditions. Each year group investigated and gave presentations on topics, including the paintings of Miró and Picasso, Gaudí's architecture, Spanish food and the festival of Las Fallas, and showcased their own interpretations of paintings and mosaics in the styles of the artists. The pupils also enjoyed singing and flamenco workshops, as well as a Spanish-inspired lunch. They fully entered into the spirit of the day with some splendid dressing up and they created a fantastic array of work. All in all, the pupils had ‘¡un día estupendo!’
