Y4 Pupil Talks about Diwali
Stamford Junior School pupil, Rucha Suvarnapathak Y4, made a Diwali presentation to all her Year 4 peers on Monday morning. She put together a special, highly professional PowerPoint presentation to accompany her talk, and wore the new clothes she had been given for Diwali. Rucha spoke at length about the significance of Diwali to Hindus; the importance of light, represented by fireworks; the food they eat; their customs of wearing special new clothes, decorating their hands with mehndi patterns and the money they offer.
The Y4 children sat spell-bound through her talk and then asked a wide variety of questions that reflected the interest she had generated in the subject.
