Pupils Inspired by Author Visit

dan anthony authorLast week pupils from Y2-6 at Stamford Junior School were visited by children’s author, Dan Anthony, most known for his book ‘Zombie Rugby Player.’ Dan’s message to the pupils was to write from experience and from the heart. He believes that if we write a story just for writing’s sake then the finished product won’t be very good. However, if we write because we are inspired by the storyline then we will produce something compelling. Dan said that the only difference between a writer and a non-writer is that the writer bothers to write. In other words, he believes we are all story writers; it’s in our genes. We must also disregard our abilities when it comes to spelling and handwriting; these are not prerequisites for a successful writer. Dan inspired the pupils and he certainly got their creative juices flowing!
