Children Visit Hindu Temple
Last week Year 3 pupils enjoyed a trip to Leicester to visit a Hindu Temple as part of their work on Hinduism. The pupils listened carefully to ideas about gods and symbolism, looked around the temple and saw the different shrines as well as the daily worshipping ritual. They saw people offer gifts to the shrines and they listened to chanting, loud bells and music.
The pupils asked many different questions and they found out a lot of interesting information which they used to recount their trip. The worshippers made the children very welcome and they even received gifts of magazines about the temple and a special book translating sanscript. Finally the children received drinks and biscuits before they returned to school.
