Students bring festive cheer to Evergreen Trust
The annual Evergreen Care Trust Christmas tea party hosted by Stamford High School marked the start of the festive season for 64 Evergreen clients. The guests were treated to a fabulous afternoon tea and carols performed by the Stamford Endowed Schools’ Chapel Choir.
This year was particularly special for Beryl Martin (aged 81), who was a pupil at Stamford High School, arriving in 1944 aged 11, almost 70 years ago. Beryl thoroughly enjoyed speaking to the students and the current Head, Mrs Powell, which according to Beryl’s friends was like old times as Beryl was a frequent visitor to the offices of the then Head Miss Nicol!
Louise Marsh, the founder of The Evergreen Care Trust, spoke on behalf of the Evergreen clients, and thanked the pupils, the choir, the teaching staff, the catering staff, and the chauffeurs, as she said that the event means an enormous amount to the Evergreen clients and makes them feel really valued and special.
Vincent O’Shea, Chairman of the Friends of The Evergreen Trust said, “What a magical event and what a fine group of students who really spoiled the Evergreen clients!”
