First-Class Performance At Theatre Workshop

Last week, Year Six children participated in ‘Stage Six’, a week-long musical theatre workshop, which is now in its third year at Stamford Junior School. The week culminated in two outstanding performances of the production on Saturday 3 July.

Each class performed a thirty minute adaptation of one of the popular musicals, ‘The Little Mermaid’, ‘Cinderella’ and ‘The Jungle Book’. Rehearsals began on Monday, and the children enthusiastically learnt all the choreography and direction within a remarkably short amount of time.

The production was written and directed by Old Stamfordian Jonathan Fisher, and Tom Brady, both students at Oxford University. Jonathan commented: “It was a real pleasure to work with the children, who each contributed with great enthusiasm. We were quite astounded by the energy, talent, and professionalism of the cast, and hope the production will remain in their memories for some time.”
