Student Gains Internship with Rolls-Royce
Stamford School student, Jacob Parrott (Year 13), has been offered a prestigious 12 month work placement scheme with global engineering company Rolls-Royce.
After being part of the Engineering Education Scheme last year, Jacob made contact with Rolls-Royce at recruitment fairs and impressed the international company with the cycle powered phone charger which he had designed with his team. Jacob then attended two challenging interviews with the company and they were impressed with his statistical knowledge gained from studying A-level Mathematics. Jacob’s work placement will commence in September where he will be one of 12,000 employees based in Derby.
After completing his Year in Industry with Rolls-Royce, Jacob will begin a degree in Electronic Engineering with Space Science Technology at the University of Bath.
