Mayor Presents Head Girl with Award

Head girl awardMayor Elect, Councillor Clem Walden and his wife Pamela visited Stamford High School to present the Head Girl Trophy to the outgoing Head Girl, Carys Nally, during the school assembly. The Trophy was designed by former Town Mayor Cedric Cadman and bears the Town Crest. It is made from oak and metalwork. The Oak was kindly provided by Lady Victoria Leatham from a Burghley Oak Tree planted in Burghley Park by Capability Brown in 1752 and felled fifteen years ago. The metalwork was cast and polished by Mr Ernie Tyres and the base by Mr Peter Froment, both Stamfordian craftsmen. A truly Stamfordian production and a piece of local history. It was first presented in 2008.
