Students Complete Paras 10 Endurance Race
Two Year 12 students from Stamford School completed the Paras 10 TAB (Tactical Advance to Battle) as part of the selection process for the parachute regiment. Harry Martin and Kieran Richardson both intend to join the British Army after University and are planning on becoming officers in the Parachute Regiment. The TAB consists of running 10 miles and has to be completed in army boots and trousers with a 35lb pack.
The boys took part among a field of 300 current and ex-serviceman from the Royal Marines, Parachute Regiment and other armed forces units. Only 15 juniors took part.
The boys put 100% effort in, with Harry completing it in 1hr 38 mins and Kieran just under 2 hours. Harry came 2nd in the junior cup and 50th overall, with 250 adult soldiers behind him.
