Statement on the Free School proposal not being supported by DfE
The Department for Education’s decision to turn down the application for a free school offers the town stability of educational provision through which the existing schools and college can develop further. For its part, Stamford Endowed Schools will continue to be central to the educational provision in the town as it has done for over 480 years. We will continue to offer an unparalleled education to our pupils through broad and challenging academic and extra-curricular programmes. We will also continue to strive to attract a broad range of pupils who live in or near Stamford through the Schools’ generous bursary scheme.
