Students Visit Copthill for Classics Garden Opening

copthill classics gardenGCSE Latinists from Stamford High School spent a morning at Copthill School to celebrate the opening of their new Classics Garden.

Students were guests of honour at a special assembly organised by Mrs Wroblewska, Copthill’s Head of Languages, who came up with the idea of the Classics Garden two years ago. They then took part in a variety of Classics-related activities, ranging from helping to make a giant mosaic of Medusa’s head to an improvised performance of the famous Wooden Horse story. Before a wonderful Roman-style lunch, the SHS students joined the whole of the Copthill School community for the official opening of their garden.

Viv Wilson, Classics teacher at Stamford High School, said: “I would like to thank Mrs Wroblewska for inviting us to take part in such a special event.”
