Hugo Set to Become Youngest Golfer in National Competition
Stamford School student, Hugo Kedzlie (Year 8), has put himself in contention to qualify for the finals of the Telegraph Junior Golf Championship in October.
Representing Spalding Golf Club, Hugo has retained his under-14 and under-16 Lincolnshire county titles already this summer. He then fell just short of completing a hat-trick when he just missed out on the under-18 trophy at Holme Hall.
He currently sits third on the Telegraph Junior Golf Championship leader board at five under and will celebrate his 14th birthday a week before the Telegraph finals, which take place at the revered Quinta do Lago resort in Portugal between October 6 and 11.
October’s finals will see 21 finalists play over a 54-hole strokeplay format for the boys' and girls' titles at Quinta do Lago. If Hugo qualifies for the finals he will be the youngest golfer in the competition.
