OS Complete Mongol Rally Challenge

mongol car rallyThree Old Stamfordian’s have completed the Mongol Car Rally after driving over fifteen thousand miles, through twenty countries, in four weeks. The 2013 Stamford School leavers Andy Bichan, Rory Langan and Ben Lovell set off from Tower Bridge on 19th July on a mission to complete the “greatest adventure in world”, and on 18th August they arrived in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

After four weeks of driving the boys finished the rally in the top ¼ of the 300 teams, with around 80 teams not making the finish line. The boys faced many challenges along their epic journey, including the suspension arm of their car breaking in Latvia and rather than waiting for the part and risking defeat, the boys took the decision to continue driving. They travelled another 1500 miles across Russia before they could get the car fixed!

The boys have raised nearly £3000 for the children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent but the fundraising still goes on. If you would like to make a donation please visit https://www.justgiving.com/kccmongolrally. You can read all about the teams adventure on their blog.
