Students Perform at Cross Country Competitions

11 students from Stamford High School competed at the County Cross Country Championships on 17th January. In the Year 10/11 race Meg Ellison finished in 4th and Gemma Andreae in 10th, both qualifying for the next round. In the senior girl’s race, Jess Walker and Natalia Sanz-Dawson also qualified for the follow on rounds after finishing in the top 10.

9 of these girls then travelled on to Welbeck to compete in the first Midlands League Race, with Meg comfortably winning and leading the team to 3rd place overall out of 11 schools. 

The following weekend, on 24th January, the team travelled to their next East Midlands League event at Uppingham. The girls managed to repeat their 3rd place performances after the following individual results: Meg Ellison (1st), Gemma Andreae (8th), Jess Walker (13th), Natalia S-D (27th), Holly Youles (33rd), Hannah Yogasundram (41st), Tilly Adcock (53rd), Evie Jones-Best (54th) and Josie Rule (57th).
