Students Gain Prizes at Youth Art Exhibition
Two Stamford High School students received prizes for their entries into the Rutland Open Youth Art Exhibition, presented by the High Sheriff of Rutland on Friday 30th January.
Gabrielle Brewis, Year 8, won the Coleman’s Art Prize (11-13 years) for her watercolour: Through the Window I Saw ‘Stars’. Eilidh Doig, Year 10, won the Rutland Young Artist Prize Cup (DFAS Prize), with her pastel piece Lost Souls.
The Rutland Open Youth Art Exhibition was set up for young artists around the Rutland area aged 11-18. It offers artists a chance to win prizes for their work which will be displayed at the Rutland Country Museum, and at Peterborough Cathedral for the Service in Celebration of the County of Rutland on Sunday 8 March.
