SES Musician’s Success Continues
Talented music student at Stamford High School, Becky Taylor (Year 13), has recently been awarded a DipABRSM after passing her Diploma exam on the Violin.
Becky’s diploma exam comprised of a 40 minute violin recital, presenting the examiners with programme notes, a viva voce demonstrating an understanding of the music performed, and sight-reading. All areas of the exam have to be passed to be awarded the diploma. The qualification is awarded by the Royal Schools of Music and is recognised by music services around the world.
Becky has already collected many accolades for her musical ability, she holds five Grade 8 certificates for Violin, Viola, Piano, Theory of Music, and Musicianship in Practice, as well as Grade 5 in Treble Recorder and Singing. She also secured a place in the prestigious National Youth Orchestra, 2015, with the viola.
In addition to her accomplishments outside of school, Becky performed a solo repertoire at one of the Stamford Endowed School’s Lunchtime Concerts earlier in the month for the local community. She also won the annual Stamford High School Music Festival, for the second year in a row, gaining the shield for Best Performance.
