Success at Maths Challenge
Students from Stamford School have recently performed successfully at various UK Mathematics Trust events.
Three Year 10 students from Stamford School, Sam Rudd-Jones, Sam Durrant and Will Dickinson, were chosen to take part in the Mathematical Circle event organised by the UKMT and, this year, hosted by Oundle School. The event has been set up to bring together able mathematicians from the local area to work on a mathematically demanding programme, to discuss and discover new areas of mathematics.
At the UK Junior Maths Challenge 2015, Stamford School were awarded 7 Gold, 22 Silver and 21 Bronze certificates. In addition, outstanding individual performances from Year 8 boys, Ben Skailes and Marco Pierbattisti, and Year 7 student Robin Skailes, earned them invitations to take part in the follow-up rounds. This includes the Junior Olympiad and Junior Kangaroo, which take place on 9th June, with more challenging questions that require detailed answers from the participants.
