Performing Arts Students Take Centre Stage

After another successful year of Performing arts at SES, students have continued to be in the spotlight over the summer break.

Performing with the National Youth Music Theatre in Prodigy at the St James Theatre, London, is ex-pupil Rachael Cawte. The show follows five finalists competing to be Britain’s best new classical music star, and runs until 15th August. Tickets can be found here.

2015 Leaver, Fraser Norton, is currently on a successful tour with his band ‘The Tin Pigeons’. The indie-folk band have had long-standing local support, with all members made up of Stamford School alumni, and they have now set their sights further afield with dates in Camden, Norfolk and South-West London. Current student Duncan Westbrook and Old Boy Tom Johnson have been part of the summer season at Tolthorpe, taking on the roles of Paris and Benvolio respectively in the Stamford Shakespeare company’s production of Romeo and Juliet.

The schools are also represented at the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe Festival with ex-SHS student Olivia Jones performing in Neil Bartlett’s adaptation of Oliver Twist, as part of the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts.
