Record Year for LAMDA Awards
In the last academic year, 216 pupils at Stamford Endowed Schools passed their LAMDA Speech and Drama examinations.
LAMDA exams give students as chance to showcase skills in a variety of performance based disciplines such as Acting, Public Speaking, Devised Performance and the Speaking of Verse, Prose and Reading for Performance.
Of the students that entered the examinations, 112 achieved a Pass with Merit and 72 were awarded a Pass with Distinction.
29 pupils gained their Gold Medal award, smashing the already high record at the school of 18. 14 of these students passed with distinction, the highest award on offer. At Gold Medal level the highest scoring girl of the year was Anna Little with 94%, while the highest scoring boy was Henry Gutteridge-Smith with an only slightly less exceptional 92%.
