SHS to Raise Funds for EDS UK
This year Stamford High School has chosen Ehlers-Danlos Support UK as one of its charities. The school will be fundraising for EDS UK and raising awareness of the genetic condition which Year 11 pupil, Kitty Richardson was born with. The consequences of this are that Kitty’s cells are unable to produce as much collagen as other people. Therefore, her ligaments are more stretchy meaning her joints can dislocate quite easily. This is a lifelong and very painful condition with no known cure at the moment. The aim of the charity is to raise as much money as possible for research purposes. Kitty is very active in fundraising and has written and produced her own CD of music with all proceeds going to the charity.
