Staff Moustaches To Raise Money
Staff at Stamford School have donated their top lips to raise money and awareness supporting the “Movember” campaign for Prostate Cancer. Men all over the world are growing amusing moustaches during the month of November. Pictured here are some of the teaching staff who are joining in, including Ex England fast bowler Dean Headley who has driven the scheme forward. Dean said “Prostate cancer is the most common cancers in men. One man dies every hour from the disease in the UK. This is a cause that I feel passionately about.”
The staff have already raised nearly £1000 through donations, but are keen to double that figure at least! Director of Sport David Laventure is also keen to highlight the educational value: ”The biggest plus is that we have all the boys asking questions about why we are doing it. Men are notoriously bad dealing with health issues and so much prostrate cancer could be treated if caught early enough. We want the boys to be health aware.”
Donations no matter how small are all welcome. Please go to http://uk.movember.com/donate/your-details/member_id/593724/ .
