Five Star King Lear
The Shakespeare Schools festival has awarded SES’s November production of King Lear five stars after the shows appraisal.
On the 9th of November 2015 Stamford Endowed Schools produced and performed a production of King Lear as part of the Shakespeare Schools festival, which was shown at The Key Theatre, Peterborough.
The performance appraisal applauded the cast’s deep understanding of their individual roles allowing them to successfully express the plays challenging themes. Additionally the cast’s vocal work was singled out for praise as was their projection and energy in the delivery of their lines.
Head of Drama at SES, Anneke Davies, said “After very successful participation in the Shakespeare’s Schools Festival 2105, we were delighted to receive our formal appraisal from the professional directors involved with SSF. The cast of ‘King Lear’ had an enormous amount of fun rehearsing and preparing for the show at The Key Theatre, Peterborough and it is lovely to receive such positive feedback.”
