SHS Music Festival 2016

SHS Music FestivalDuring the final week before half term the SHS Music Festival took place to a captivated audience of parents and students/

A big highlight of the SHS Music calendar is the two day Music Festival and its subsequent concert with selected highlights. A packed schedule with 142 performances kept the adjudicator, very busy this year. With classes for Years 7-13 in strings, vocal, piano, ensembles, woodwind and brass, as well as a percussion class, a wide variety of instruments and musical styles were in the safe hands of our very capable students.

The performances provided a window into impressive music making achieved by dedicated students and all are to be congratulated. After the audiences votes had been counted at the end of the second evening, the Jane Page Cup was awarded to Marianne Vie and the Adjudicator's Cup to Lizzie Winfrey, who was also awarded the Music Festival Shield for her performance in the concert.

'A treat!  Really nice atmosphere, the students are very supportive of each other which helps them achieve their best.' Caroline Trutz – Adjudicator
