SJS Competes in National Gymnastics Championship

Stamford Junior School ISGA gymnastics On 5th March three SES Gymnastics teams travelled to Tunbridge Wells to compete in the Independent Schools Gymnastics Association (ISGA) National Championships.

The Under 10 team were the first to perform at this prestigious event and are to be commended for the wonderful team spirit they showed throughout the competition. This was recognised by the judges who awarded them the Team Spirit Cup. They were also awarded the U10 Improver's Trophy, having risen up the rankings since last year and finishing a very creditable 7th. 

The U13s were next to perform and they rose to the occasion in what was a very high standard competition. They performed with determination especially in the floor and finished a respectable 12th. Isabella Plant (Year 7) continued to show her talent and finished a brilliant 5th place individually.

Finally it was the turn of the U11 team. New floor routines were performed without fault and they showed their power on the vault to finish in 8th place. Their group routine was especially well performed and they finished in 6th place in this aspect of the competition, receiving 6th place medals. They were also awarded the Improver's Trophy for their age group.
