Gymnastics Championships held at SJS

Over the weekend of Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th April Stamford Junior School hosted the Midlands Independent Schools Gymnastics Championships.

Around three hundred competing gymnasts were welcomed to the Stamford Junior School Sports Hall over the course of the two day competition.

All of the seven teams which Stamford Endowed Schools entered performed magnificently and finished in medal winning positions, which had been specially designed for the event.

Of the results, one highlight was the U14 boys becoming the Midlands Independent School Champions, narrowly beating St Faith's to team gold. Dan Smith took individual silver, and Laurence Hayes took individual bronze.

Elsewhere, U11 Novice Jemima Todd and Senior Advanced gymnast Isabella Plant both finished in individual second positions in their respective categories.
