Year 5 Residential Trip to Edale
From 11th-13th May, Year 5 pupils and staff enjoyed an action-packed three days, enjoying activities at Edale Youth Hostel Activity Centre in the Peak District.
Blessed by beautiful weather to match the stunning scenery, the pupils enjoyed a selection of problem-solving activities on the first afternoon, followed by a two-hour evening hike after supper.
Over the course of the next two days, the Year 5 group participated in abseiling 80 feet off a bridge, canoeing, and weaselling activities, and completed an egg-drop challenge and treasure hunt.
Year 5 teacher, Mr Chris Agnew said: “All experienced the thrill of learning new skills, of achieving what they thought they could not, and of testing themselves outside their comfort zones. The staff were delighted by the children’s attitudes, ambition and behaviour.”
