Students Direct and Produce Drama Piece

Student directed and produced drama This week saw the culmination of Year 10 students directed production of Enid Blyton’s classic ‘Jolly Hockey Sticks’ tale of Darrell Rivers and her friends escapades at school.

Lara Tomlinson, Bethany Gunther and Sasha Pollock devised and directed a group of Year 7 students in this charming tale of boarding school life from the last century. This is a fantastic undertaking which requires a great deal of commitment and organisation which the Year 10 and Year 7 students have embraced and learnt a great deal from.

Mrs Watson supervised and facilitated the project and it was a real delight to watch across two nights in packed houses at The Ancaster Studio.

“We are very proud of our burgeoning young directors and how Stamford Endowed Schools’ Drama is encouraging such self-motivated students; Sam Mendes and Rufus Norris, watch out!” Anneke Davies, Stamford Endowed Schools Head of Drama.
