Another Superb Term of Drama

stamford drama students berkoffThe Summer Term saw a number of outstanding performances by the SES A-level Drama and Theatre Studies students. The Year 12s excelled when tackling the demanding style of Steven Berkoff, staging extracts from his plays Greek, Metamorphosis and Jim Cartwright’s Road to a packed house in the Llowarch Performing Arts Centre. The Year 13s delighted audiences with the culmination of their year-long devising projects. The Llowarch Performing Arts Centre was transformed into Giant Country and a tired Bournemouth hotel, as two groups presented their own stage adaptations of Roald Dahl’s The BFG and The Witches. At The Birkbeck Studio, the audience was transported back to 1830s London with a laugh-out-loud parody of the Charles Dickens classic, Oliver Twist.
