Girls Brave the Cold for Charity
Camilla Beech and Jess Shears undertook four days 'busking' with their flutes over the Christmas holidays in sub-zero temperatures to raise money for the Help for Heroes charity. They raised an amazing £546, which is a testament to their endurance in the cold, their musical talents and the generosity of the Stamford and Oakham public.
During the Christmas break, Camilla was also the winner of a short-story writing competition held by the Stamford Arts Centre as part of the Stamford Festival of Ghosts. She won the 12-16 year old category, judged by Sarah Waters, the best-selling novelist.
