Bumper Hockey Season at Stamford

Stamford hockey successesStamford School hockey goes from strength to strength in 2017 with all age groups winning their respective county cups en route to the regional finals. The First XI are currently unbeaten on their circuit and before half term enjoyed a national ranking in the top five. The 16As came within a goal of the National Finals and 15As remain unbeaten as do the 13Fs. Individual success continues with over 25 boys from Under 13 upwards representing their Junior Academies and JRPC squads within the England Hockey Single System. Huge congratulations must go to Eddie Harper and Joe Rogers who following outstanding performances at The Futures Cup are currently training under the England U17 Hi-Pac group.

Head of Hockey Jack Cropper was proud of his troops: “All the boys and staff worked hard pre-season and it has clearly paid off. We have had more participation than ever with the largest number of pupils taking part in the overseas tour. It’s brilliant to see all the representative boys like Eddie and Joe enjoying the rewards of their hard work. Long may it continue!”
