Eco Committee Visit Energy Facility

Eco Committee visit Energy facility12 Year 7-9 students from the Eco Committee at Stamford School enjoyed a highly informative and thought provoking-day at the Energy Recovery Facility in Peterborough on Wednesday 10th May. The students were able to access the Control Room, where they watched how waste is transformed into energy. Then they observed the bunker, which can hold around 3000 tonnes of waste, and its enormous grab cranes, which process these vast quantities. The boys thoroughly enjoyed the visit and have received detailed explanations about waste and recycling.

The Eco Club are looking forward to Green Week next week (15 -19 May), with the main activity being a litter pick in school and in town, on Thursday afternoon involving all of Year 7.
