Sixth Form Acoustic Evening Delights

Charity acoustic evening Stamford An evening of acoustic music in May entertained Sixth Form students and raised almost £500 for #teamgeorge.

Organised by the prefects, the Sixth Form Acoustic Evening now in its ninth year, offers students an informal place to step up on stage either solo or in small groups and entertain their peers with their favourite songs. This year’s eclectic playlist of 20 acts ranged from the ubiquitous Johnny B Goode to Dexys Midnight Runners’ “Come on Eileen” and the ever-popular Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You”, accompanied by the keyboard, guitar, saxophone and even the ukulele.

As always, hidden talents emerged as well as a last chance to hear some of our finest musicians before they move on to university. The concert gave Year 12 and 13 students a final chance to socialise together in a chilled, cheerful and relaxed setting before their exam season begins.
