Animal Camping at SJS

Animal Camp at SJSOver the weekend of 21st May, 29 pupils from Stamford Junior School took part in the ‘Animal Camping’ theme weekend. It was a fantastic introduction to camping for first-timers, aided by the perfect weather. The children put up their own tents with help from some willing Duke of Edinburgh boys from the senior schools. They played outdoor team games, made animal mosaics and sculptures, and made fact files about various animals using the computers and resource library.

They had BBQ for tea, breakfast and lunch, and in the evening had marshmallows around the fire and a good old sing song. Freddie and Jack particularly entered into the spirit of the animal theme with their donkey costumes, having never taken them off!
