University Success for Stamford School Leavers
We are very pleased to learn of the successes of some recent Stamford School leavers. John Webb, who left in 2005, has graduated with a First in Maths from Lincoln, Oxford, and Alec Houston, a 2007 leaver, achieved the top maths result at Durham for his year group.
Owen Cooke, who left in 2008, has received an Exhibition at Emmanuel, Cambridge following his first year of Medicine.
Lastly, Robert Thomas, a 2007 leaver, has been awarded the top Scholarship for Science at Trinity College, Cambridge following his second year. As a result of this achievement, Trinity have granted him accommodation in the very rooms which Isaac Newton had when he studied at Trinity.
Stuart Burns, Head of Stamford School, said “We are tremendously proud of the achievements of these former students. Not only is it pleasing to see that they have made the most of their opportunities at university, but it is also inspiring to our current students. I wish them all the best as they continue their studies and begin to embark on their chosen careers.”
