Hockey Players Put to the Test

Stamford High School Hockey players at training campThe Hockey season was kick-started over the Bank Holiday weekend with a party of 50 girls and six staff travelling to Seaford College in Sussex for six days of training, fitness testing and matches.

 The girls and staff received intense coaching from the country's leading international players and coaches. Steve Paxton (South Africa), Dilly Newton (England and GB), David Hacker (Wales, GB and Olympian), Ben Barnes (England) as well as Gareth Terrett (Wales and GB) were the impressive party who introduced the girls to advanced skills and tactics as well as video analysis and insights into their international Hockey careers. The camp was another step taken in a campaign to compete in the highest standards in sport at SHS.
