Christmas Treat For Evergreen Clients

Pupils who hosted the Evergreen Afternoon TeaChristmas has begun for over 50 clients of The Evergreen Care Trust, who were treated to a fabulous Afternoon Tea and Carol Singing at Stamford High School.

Girls and boys from the Stamford Endowed Schools Sixth Form carried out fundraising events beforehand to raise money to pay for a sumptuous array of sandwiches and cakes. They then treated the Evergreen clients to their hospitality, acting as hosts, waiters and waitresses for their invited guests. Pupils also provided a musical treat, as members of the SES choir sang carols and Dominic Pini and Annabel McFetrich played piano throughout the afternoon.

As a special gift, all were presented with a photograph of themselves with their friends, taken by Stamford School pupil Kevin Kwok, which was printed and framed pupils for their guests to take away on the day as a treasured memento.

The guests all said how wonderful it was to spend time with such a fine group of young people, the special bond between young and old leading to lots of fun and laughter.

Guest of honour though was Jean Crawford, who is 100 years and 8 months young, and was presented with a bouquet of flowers by charity prefects India Stow and Lottie Davies.

Mrs Yvonne Powell Head of Stamford High School said “It was a great pleasure having the Evergreen clients as our guests. The students look forward to this event every year and a lovely afternoon was had by all.”
