SJS Pupils Perform Christmas Play
Eighty-seven children in Key Stage One at Stamford Junior School recently performed their Christmas Play – Jesus’ Christmas Party.
This is the Christmas story told from the point of view of the grumpy innkeeper. The innkeeper and his wife, superbly played by Charles Anslow and Scarlett Wherry, settle down to sleep after a hectic day. A stream of visitors asking for Mary and Joseph constantly disturbs them. Desperate for sleep, the innkeeper becomes increasingly cross, particularly when he hears everyone having a noisy party, but soon softens when he sees the new-born baby.
Gaynor Mullock, Early Years Leader, said: “The Christmas Nativity is always a special event in the Junior School calendar, and yet again the children rose to both occasions when they performed for their families and friends. It has certainly made a very special start to our Christmas festivities.”
