Quentin Davies Quizzed by Pupils
Quentin Davies, the former MP for Grantham and Stamford and current peer in the House of Lords, visited Stamford High School last week to address students from the Stamford Endowed Schools.
During the eye-opening question and answer session, Lord Davies gave any aspiring politicians in the audience a detailed insight into politics in Westminster and outlined the issues which he feels are the most pressing for our times, including the economy, Europe and the NHS. He also faced questions on the fairness of the voting system, the relationship between the voting public and politicians and his inspiration for becoming a politician.
Year 13 pupil Dominic Pini, a Politics Prefect, said “Lord Davies gave those present a rare and valuable insight into the inner workings of the House of Lords.”
