Record number of girls selected for county hockey
A record twelve girls from Stamford High School have been selected to play for county squads.
Joanna Crombie, Lily Hives (both U17), Charlotte Crombie (U13) and Isabelle Chedd (U15) have been called up to play for Leicestershire, while Molli Cleaver, Amelia Rome (both U17), Maeve McDonald (U14), Maddie Munro-Hall, Freya Jones, Rhona Kelly and Sophie Skelton (all U13) have been selected to play for Northamptonshire. The girls join Charlotte Spice and Issy Chandler, who were selected to play for Lincolnshire at U16 level last term.
The talented girls all attended Junior Development Training Centres and progressed through trials to be selected for their county squads. They will now represent their county for the remainder of the season.
Jess Fowler, Head of Netball at SHS, said “This is the most county representations we have ever had, which is great for the progression of hockey at Stamford High School. The girls have worked very hard to get to where they have and we are very proud of them.”
