SJS Pupil Participates in National Swimming Final
Year 6 pupil Nathalie Reuss participated in the IAPS National Swimming Finals on Saturday 19th May in Crawley. After an impressive swim in the heats stage, where she achieved a 50m backstroke time of 36.8, she was the only SJS pupil to qualify for the finals.
After a pep talk with her swimming teacher, Nathalie was ready to swim her best and go for a medal. It was a very close final with all of the competitors battling it out in the last five metres of the race. Nathalie narrowly missed out on second place, though she achieved an excellent time of 36.84 and was awarded a bronze medal.
Amie White, Swimming Teacher, said “It was a fantastic race to watch and the experience of being in a national final, I am sure, will stay with Nathalie throughout her swimming career. A very big well done.”
