Stamford Junior School pupils make terracota warriorsOn Friday 15th and Saturday 16th January 2010, Stamford Junior School held the first of 2010’s theme weekends. The ‘Welcome to China’ theme weekend was attended by over 16 staff and 23 children, along with a sixth form student from the Stamford School, Garrick Wong. Nearly all the children stayed over on Friday night at the boarding house.

The activities included a tai chi dance to re-enact the dragon story with ‘Chinese’ music composed and performed as a soundtrack to the dance, speaking mandarin with Garrick, making a terracotta army figure - using clay - and dragon puppets and Chinese lanterns. The children also enjoyed tasty Chinese food at tea and lunch!
