SJS Compete at GISGA 2 Piece Competition
Eight pupils in Y3-4 represented Stamford Junior School in this year’s national Girls Independent Schools Gymnastics Association (GISGA) competition which took place at St Faith’s School, Cambridge. The children competed in the Under 9 category, five were members of the team, competing in the A competition and the other three competed in the individual competition.
All of the gymnasts performed exceptionally well and many of the girls tried new vaults for the first time. In the individuals’ competition, Abigail Lamb finished in third place, with Nicola Cato and Flossie Davies achieving fourth.
In the A competition, the team tried hard to improve their control on the floor, and did very well to finish in 4th place. Isabella Plant dominated the A competition individually and after an explosive vault, she was crowned GISGA Under 9 National 2 piece Champion.
