Recent Leaver Awarded ICE Scholarship
Recent Stamford High School Leaver, Aimee Blay, has been awarded an Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Quest Scholarship. ‘Quest’ stands for Queen’s Jubilee Scholarship Trust, which was set up to support and encourage education in civil engineering. The prestigious scholarship offers financial support to undergraduates throughout their civil engineering degree as well as offering them a step into their future career.
After starting the application process through the Stamford Endowed Schools Careers Department, Aimee was given an interview with Interserve Construction, after which she was successfully awarded a Quest Scholarship. Aimee will receive an annual bursary of £2,500, eight weeks paid work experience every summer, and is guaranteed a job with Interserve Construction after she graduates from Newcastle University.
On hearing the news, Aimee said, “I am absolutely over the moon and would like to thank Mr Jordan for guiding me through the application process and providing an excellent reference.”
Sam Jordan, Head of Careers at Stamford School said, “I am delighted to hear that Aimee has been awarded an ICE scholarship. She is very determined and I know that she will be an asset to this organisation.”
