Successful SES Careers Convention
The annual Year 11 Careers Convention at Stamford High School and Stamford School was the most successful yet with more visitors than ever before and additional talks for the students. Parents responded willingly and along with a number of alumni provided an excellent insight for the students into a whole range of career areas.
The Year 11s were able to question people about a wide range of career areas from the rather gory delights of facial surgery from our Dentists to finding out what an Agronomist does. Other career areas included; Air traffic control, midwifery and computer programming. Talks on which careers need which A-levels and an introduction to overseas university rounded of what was a very valuable experience.
Sam Jordan, Head of Careers at Stamford School, said: “After sending out feedback to all of the boys, two thirds of them said the Careers Convention was ‘very helpful’ which is a brilliant response and makes the day an all-round success.”
