Year 3 Visit Hindu Temple
Year 3 pupils at Stamford Junior School are currently studying Hinduism and as part of this work they visited the Hindu Temple in Leicester.
The children had a tour of the temple and saw the different gods and goddesses, the shrines, and they learnt about the daily worshipping ritual. They also saw the priest bless the gods and congregation, offer gifts to the shrines and they listened to chanting, loud bells and music. The pupils were invited to ask any questions to the priest. They found out a lot of interesting information and used it to recount their trip.
Michelle Hewett, Junior School Teacher said: “The priest and all the worshipper’s made the children very welcome and they all thoroughly enjoyed the day.”
