Cheque Presented to Prostate Cancer UK
John Davies, a representative from Prostate Cancer UK, visited Stamford School where he was presented with a cheque for £1,280 from the fundraising efforts of the past year.
Stamford School raised this considerable amount of money through several fundraising events. The main event was the Cricket Dinner held in the historic Long Room at Lords, which was organised by Stamford School Cricket Professional, Dean Headley. The night was a huge success with staff, parents and governors donating generously throughout the auction and raffle.
Funds were also raised from bag-packing at Morrisons, which was arranged by last year’s cricket captain, Johnny Williams.
Stamford School Headmaster, Will Phelan, said: “Stamford School is delighted to be able to support Prostate Cancer UK. Raising the boys’ consciousness about this serious disease is important, and embedding within them the value of charitable work is vital. I would like to congratulate all of the boys who have raised money and volunteered.”
