House Cross Country at Burghley

Last Friday, Stamford Junior School pupils participated in their annual House Cross Country competition in Burghley Park. The children competed in their year groups and were split into A, B and Open levels. Each race varied in length according to the abilities and ages of the children.

In the Under 8’s the A race was won by Seb Goold, with his brother, Ben, close behind. At Under 9’s Sam Hughes ran a strong race and finished first. There was another brotherly triumph across the Under 10 and Under 11 levels, with Cormac and Kieran Calnan coming in ahead of the field to take first place in their respective events. All of the runners ran hard whilst competing for their Houses, with Anglesey coming in just ahead of Belton to take the honours.
