Peer Teaching at SJS
As part of their studies on data handling, Y3 pupils at SJS imparted their knowledge on their younger peers. At the start of the session, the Y3’s taught the Y1s how to present data by showing them how to produce a tally chart of their eye colours. They were then able to sample the Y3’s baking (produced in Design Technology), decide which was their favourite biscuit and contribute to a Year 3 bar chart.
Alison Crow, Teacher at Stamford Junior School said: “The children thoroughly enjoyed being taught by their peers and the practical learning was very effective.”
