Pupils Enjoy ‘Sports for All’ Weekend
Year 6 pupils from Stamford Junior School embraced their first ‘Sports for All’ weekend where they were able to gain a taste of life at the senior schools using facilities from across the three sites.
The pupils spent the Friday evening canoeing in the Junior School swimming pool, followed by a game of handball at the High School. Many of the children then enjoyed their first overnight stay at St Michael’s Boarding House.
On the Saturday, the Year 6 pupils made use of the new sports facilities at Stamford School, including swimming in the Memorial Pool and table-tennis in the Sports Hall. Afterwards they had lunch back at SHS and took part in a Wildcats Dance Party, which they thoroughly enjoyed.
Junior School Teacher, James Lyons, said: “The Year 6 pupils enjoyed an exhausting but brilliant weekend where gained a valuable insight of life at the senior schools.”
