SES Join Ogden Trust Partnership
The Stamford Endowed Schools have joined the Stamford Ogden Trust Partnership which works to promote and support the teaching of physics in schools. The partnership consists of Queen Eleanor School (Hub co-ordinator); Stamford Endowed Schools; New College Stamford and Malcolm Sargent School. The Stamford Ogden Trust will get funding of up to £30,000 over the next three years which can be spent on anything related to physics.
The Stamford Ogden Trust will organise events at each of the schools and visits to universities and museums. Plans are also underway for a two day rocket building event at Stamford School. The event will be open to primary and secondary school pupils and will involve chemical rockets that can reach up to 350 metres.
Head of Physics at Stamford School, Chris Brace, said: “This is an amazing opportunity for our students to become involved in a variety of physics related activities over the next three years. It will be great to work with the other partnership schools and I am sure that this new collaboration will bring a considerable amount of enthusiasm to our students.”
